Dr. Smith was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana but was raised predominantly in El Paso, Texas. Upon graduating Valedictorian of Andress High School, she went on to complete her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences. Dr. Smith then studied at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to earn her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. She graduated as Valedictorian and earned numerous honors including the prestigious Kramer Award and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Smith pursued further training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she earned her Master of Science degree and specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.  Immediately following residency, Dr. Smith gained board certification and became a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Smith’s passion is in helping others and truly caring about the patients that she is blessed to treat. Dr. Smith is also passionate about teaching and maintaining the standards of her profession. She currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UT Health Science Center in Houston and maintains an active role in many professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, The American Board of Orthodontics, and the American Association of Orthodontics.

Dr. Smith is married to her better half, Scott, who is an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon currently practicing in central Houston and Pearland. Together they have two handsome sons, Jack and Carter, and a rambunctious fur baby named Bosley. Outside of the office, she enjoys Pelotoning, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
